Which social media platforms do Danish men and women use? As of 2018, Facebook seemed to be the most popular social network among both genders. 77 percent of the women and 68 percent of the men who participated in the survey reported to be Facebook users. Furthermore, the highest number of Facebook users in the country that year appeared to be composed by yearsmen of ages between 25 and 35, followed by women in the same age group. Instagram ranked second among female users, 58 percent of whom were on the photo sharing platform. In contrast, the second most popular one among men was Snapchat. Half of the male respondents stated to be Snapchat users in the evaluated period.
Social networks
The share of social network users in Denmark fluctuated over the past years, but increased overall. Ever since 2016, the share of participants in social networks was over 70 percent. As of 2018, there were nearly 80 percent of Danish social network users.
Worldwide figures 
Twitter was the most popular social media platform among men worldwide, as of July 2019. Nearly 70 percent of men used Twitter. Women, however, seemed to prefer photo sharing platforms in the evaluated period. Over 60 percent of women used Snapchat and over 50 percent used Instagram.
