The One World Trade Center in New York was the most expensive building in the world that is actually finished - but by 2022 it may well be overtaken. The majority of buildings in this list are built fairly recently: Nine out of the 15 entries in this ranking were built after 2010. The oldest in this list is Bucharest's Palace of the Parliament from 1988.
