Fossil fuels continue to dominate the primary energy mix, with mineral oil contributing over 35 percent, followed by natural gas at just under 25 percent. Primary energy consumption results from the extraction of primary energy sources in Germany, purchases and deliveries across borders and stock withdrawals.
