In terms of market share, Folgers was the leading brand of ground coffee in the United States in 2017. In that year, Folgers accounted for nearly 30 percent of the U.S. ground coffee market. Maxwell House also controlled a significant share of that market, at 14.1 percent.

Ready-To-Drink Coffee Brands in the U.S.

Ready-to-drink coffee is often a quicker and more convenient option than ordering coffee at a cafe or brewing it at home. Often these RTD coffee drinks come with different flavorings or different levels of sweetness to suit any coffee drinker’s taste. In 2018, the best selling ready-to-drink coffee brand in the United States was Starbucks, which generated about 65.11 million U.S. dollars in sales that year.

Coffee Consumers in the U.S.

For many individuals, the day has not started until they’ve had their cup of coffee. On average, Americans drink just over two cups of coffee a day, according to data from 2018. This was a substantial increase from 2016, when the per capita coffee consumption in the United States stood at only 1.64 cups per day. The average amount of coffee consumed also varies by gender in the United States, with men consuming around 2.23 cups of coffee per day and women consuming 1.89 cups on average.
