Leading banking groups 2018, by tangible assets

In 2018, UniCredit was the leading banking group in Italy in terms of total tangible assets. In fact, the Italian bank with headquarters in Milan reported tangible assets amounting to nearly 828 billion euros. Second in the ranking presented in the graph came Intesa Sanpaolo, with tangible assets close to 779 billion euros. Far behind in third place was Cassa Depositi e Prestiti, the major Italian promotional institution for economic development through long-term investments at local, regional and national level, which reported tangible assets worth approximately 370 billion euros.
