This statistic presents the types of financing applied for by small and medium enterprises (SME) wanting to buy land or buildings/ building premises, in the past 12 months, in the United Kingdom (UK) as of 2015. It can be seen that 62 percent of SMEs applied for mortgages in order to buy land or buildings at that time.

Question was posed to those companies that had applied for finance in the 12 months preceding the interview and it was read as follows: 'What type of finance did you seek? Please include all types of finance including where you failed to obtain it'.
Survey was conducted among small and medium businesses with employees. Three categories were distinguished, based on employees numbers: micro businesses (1 to 9 employees), small businesses (10 to 49 employees) and medium businesses (50 to 250 employees).
