This statistic shows the number of foreign fighters in Syria and Iraq by their country of origin, as of December 2015. As of December 2015, there were around 6000 foreign fighters in Syria and Iraq who originated from Tunisia. Around 760 foreign fighters originated from Germany.
Foreign fighters refer to people traveling to Iraq and Syria to join the so-called Islamic State and other violent extremist groups.
