Gross residential mortgage lending Czechia 2018-2022

The total amount of gross residential mortgage lending in Czechia decreased significantly in 2022. As of the third quarter of the year, mortgage lending amounted to about one billion euros - about one-quarter of the same period in the year before. This had to do with the worsening economic conditions and the rising interest rates, which made taking out a loan less affordable. The United Kingdom, which was the country with the highest mortgage lending in Europe as of the third quarter of 2022, recorded about 96 billion euros in lending.
