This statistic illustrates the total amount of gross residential mortgage lending in Romania from the second quarter of 2014 to the fourth quarter of 2020. It can be seen that the total amount of gross residential mortgage lending in Romania fluctuated during the period under observation, reaching a value of 553 million euros as of the fourth quarter of 2020. The largest amount of gross residential mortgage lending during this period was found in the fourth quarter of 2015, when a value of 835 million euro of residential mortgage lending was recorded. In comparison, the United Kingdom, which was the country with the highest mortgage lending in Europe as of the third quarter of 2019, recorded more than 79 billion euros in lending.
