Tod´s: sales growth of the Italian shoes and bags company 2018

In 2018, global sales of the Italian leather shoes and bags company Tod's experienced an overall contraction. In particular, the sales of the brands Tod’s, Fay and Roger Vivier experienced contraction of 3.3, 3.5 and 3.2 percent, respectively. By contrast, the sales of articles branded Hogan experienced a positive growth of 1.1 percentage points. In terms of value, Tod’s Group registered total sales amounting to 940.5 million euros in 2018.

Tod’s Group

The Italian Group operates in the manufacturing and distribution of luxury products such as shoes, apparel, and leather goods and accessories. As mentioned in the previous paragraph, the Group controls the luxury brands Tod’s, Fay, Hogan and Roger Vivier. Tod’s is by far the most successful brand, accounting for 53 percent of the group’s total sales in 2018.

A global luxury player

The history of Tod’s Group starts in the early 1900’s as a small shoes manufacturer. Later in the 1970s, the company started expanding to become a big player in the luxury footwear sector. In 2018, the group was present globally with over 200 directly operated stores and over 100 franchised stores. Moreover, thanks to revenues amounting to almost one billion euros, Tod’s ranked among the leading Italian fashion companies in 2017 in terms of worldwide turnover.
