India's cotton imports by value 2010-2019

In fiscal year 2019, India imported cotton worth approximately 49 billion Indian rupees. This was a significant increase since fiscal year 2011 when the value stood at only 6.2 billion rupees. India's import of textiles made up a share of 1.3 percent of all its imports. On the other hand, the country's textile exports stood at over 12 percent in 2019.
