Spain 2016: antibiotic use to stimulate growth in farm animals is banned in the EU
This statistic displays the share of respondents in Spain in 2016 who were aware that stimulating farm animal growth with antibiotics was banned in the EU. Antibiotics are medications that can kill or hinder the growth of bacteria which cause infections in people and animals. In 2016, 72 percent of respondents in Spain said that they did not know that using antibiotics to stimulate growth in farm animals is banned within the EU, this was above the European 28 average at 60 percent.
