Tourism employment in Greater Paris 2019-2020, by industry

The number of tourism employees in Greater Paris decreased sharply across all segments in 2020 over the previous year due to the impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. While employment in the city's catering industry totaled nearly 168 thousand in 2019, this figure declined to approximately 153 thousand in 2020. Meanwhile, the number of people working in the accommodation industry dropped by around 11 percent over the same period.
