The statistic illustrates the average expenditure for the winter sport holidays by Dutch winter sportsmen in the winter period of 2015 and 2016. In this winter season, approximately 715 euros on average has been spent on winter holidays per individual by Dutch winter sportsmen.

The source adds the folllowing criteria:
- A holiday in the winter period from October till April with the purpose to engage in winter sport activities like skiing, snowboarding, cross-country, hiking or ice skating.
- A holiday outside of your own home for leisure purposes with at least four consecutive nights. Staying over at a family, friends or relatives place abroad is taken into account as well.
- Every holiday counts for one holidaymaker

It is not:
- Overnight stay at a family, friends or relatives place in the Netherlands, unless they are (mostly) not present during the stay.
