U.S. adults' opinion on expanding energy production 2020, by resource
The majority of the U.S. public interviewed, with 90 percent of the respondents, favored the expansion of solar panel farms to increase the energy production in the United States. During the survey, the second largest energy source favored by the U.S. public was wind turbine farms, with 83 percent of respondents. A large share of respondents opposed to the expansion of the energy production by increasing nuclear power plants, offshore drilling, hydraulic fracturing and coal mining, at 55, 58, 60 and 65 percent, respectively.
