A 58 percent share of the respondents stated that they agreed that promoting stability is more important in the Middle East than promoting democracy, given the current circumstances there.

How strongly do you agree or disagree with the statement? “Given the current circumstances in the middle east, promoting stability in the region is more important than promoting democracy”.
The countries covered by this survey were Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, Algeria, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Palestine, Tunisia, and Yemen.
The survey did not include Syria due to the civil war there.
Respondents were exclusevly comprised of citizens of the countries outlined above, with 50% male and 50% female respondents.
The margin of error for this survey is +/-1.65 per cent.
Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and the United Arab Emirates had 300 respondents. Iraq had 250 respondents and Palestine had 150. Each remaining country had 200 respondents.
The majorty of respondents were from urban areas.
