Children who were read aloud to by their parents since infancy in the U.S. 2018

In 2018, 77 percent of parents with children aged 0 to five years old said that they began reading to aloud to that child when he or she was less than one year old. Meanwhile, 43 percent of parents stated that read-aloud time started when the child was less than three months old.
