Industry 4.0 in Europe: company application areas 2015

This statistic shows the result of a survey among industrial companies in Germany, Austria, Switzerland on the current and future application areas from Industry 4.0 in 2015. At the time of the survey, 48 percent of respondents stated that Industry 4.0 is currently strongly present in the area of production and operating data recording. 92 percent of respondents stated they thought this would be the case in the future.

** A total of 67 industrial companies from Germany, Austria and Switzerland took part in the study, but only 48 datasets were usable. The largest share of the survey comes from the engineering field (42 percent). The source further notes that half of the companies surveyed employ more than 10,000 employees and 60 percent of the companies participating generate an annual revenue of over a billion euros.
Managers from production, COOs, factory and production managers, as well as controllers, those responsible for maintenance and sales employees were surveyed.
