This statistic presents the results of a survey among households across rural India about the distribution of hospital stay duration after childbirth in 2013-14. For instance, the share of mothers who stayed in the hospital for less than 12 hours after childbirth in the rural areas was around 25 percent. Most women stayed for 48 hours or longer during the survey period.
