Duration of stay in hospitals after childbirth in north-east India - by state 2014 This statistic presents the results of a survey among households across north-east Indian states about the distribution of mothers staying at hospitals after childbirth in 2013-14, by duration. For instance, the share of mothers who stayed in hospitals for less than 12 hours in Nagaland was about 48 percent, while women in the state who had stayed for 48 hours or longer were about seven percent during the survey period.
