The volume of food grains loaded at major Indian ports to be sent to all foreign countries and regions amounted to only 2.4 thousand metric tons in 2021. The port sector of the south Asian country handled over 1.2 billion metric tons of cargo in 2021. A major portion of this cargo was handled by the major ports.
