Number of persons killed due to terrorism in the Nordic countries 1991-2020
The highest number of victims of terrorism in the Nordic countries were recorded in 2011, when the right-wing extremist Anders Behring Breivik killed a total of 77 people in a bombing of the main government building in Oslo, Norway, and shot several youth at a political summer camp on the island of Utøya. Moreover, a total of seven people where killed in two different terrorist attacks in Sweden and Finland in 2017. However, terrorist attacks rarely occur in the Nordic countries. In 2020, no people were killed in terrorist attacks in the five Nordic countries.
