This statistic shows the share of durum wheat cultivated locally and purchased by the Italian food company Barilla Group in the years 2011, 2012, 2014, 2015, and 2017, by broken down by country. As of the survey period, the share of purchased durum wheat cultivated in Italy increased from 71 percent in 2011, to 89 percent in 2017. By contrast, durum wheat purchased from Mexico and North America was entirely produced locally.
