Merger and acquisitions are financial deals that result in a consolidation of companies or assets. Merger is the combination of two companies to form a new one whereas acquisition involved purchase of one company by another one. As of January 2019, the biggest share of executives interviewed expected the M&A deal volume to remain stable. Furthermore, another 35 percent expected to see an increase in the number of M&A deals on the Irish market.
