Share of national films directed by women in European countries 2011-2015 This statistic shows the share of national films directed by women in selected European countries between 2011 and 2015. Over the period in consideration, the share of films directed by women was highest in France with a share of 22.3 percent. The country with the lowest percentage of films produced by women was Italy with 10.2 percent, less than half of France's share. The total number of feature films produced in France in 2015, including those that were minority co-produced, was 300. Between 2011 and 2015, the absolute number of films directed by women in France was 282. In 2015, the average budget of French films directed by women was 3.5 million euros.
