by Statista Research Department, last edited Feb 19, 2016
Average price of alcoholic beverages in the United Kingdom (UK) in 2015 This statistic displays the average price of alcoholic beverages in the United Kingdom (UK) in 2015, by type of beverage. As shown on the graph, champagne has the highest average retail price at 26.26 British pounds per liter, followed by spirits at 19.33, In contrast, cider / perry has the lowest price per liter at 2.10 British pounds, along with beer and ready to drink (RTD) beverages. The market for alcoholic beverages in the United Kingdom is centered around beer, which makes up the majority of sales in both the on-trade and off-trade, although more so for the former. The share of alcohol sold on-trade, however, has decreased over time in favor of the off-trade, likely due to increased prices as a result of tax. Consequently, annual expenditure on alcoholic beverages, when based on volume, has remained fairly stable.
