Locations for ice cream consumption in the United Kingdom (UK) 2017
Ice cream sales in the UK
In 2017, Brits purchased 351 thousand tons of ice cream in retail stores. Which is a small increase over the consumption in the early 2010s but less than in 2016. Of the purchased ice cream, a shrinking number is purchased in block or tub form. And consumers in the UK are less likely to purchase ice cream made in the UK, since sales of locally produced ice cream dropped by approximately 135 thousand liters between 2013 and 2014 and have not yet recovered.
Ice cream market revenues
While the UK ice cream market is expected to continue to shrink, the worldwide market is still growing. Growth is also expected for the European market, however, neither Germany, nor France are forecast to see any near future growth.
