This statistic shows the total number of houses for sale in the Netherlands from 2006 to 2016 (in thousands). The NVM is a Dutch branch organization of real estate agents and appraisers. Almost 75 percent of Dutch houses are sold by real estate agents who are members of this organization. At the end of 2016, there were approximately 93,000 houses still for sale in the Netherlands. This was a decrease from the approximately 176,000 houses in 2012. In recent years, the housing market has continued to improve in the Netherlands due to low mortgage rates, a recovering economy and a high level of consumer confidence. In 2016, the total number of houses sold in the Netherlands reached a number of approximately 214,800.
