Mexico: illegal employment rate among minors 2015-2017

Illegal child employment was estimated at 11 percent of the population aged 5 to 17 in Mexico in 2017. The prevalence of illegal child labor has improved since 2015, when 12.4 percent of all children and adolescents in that age range were involved in unauthorized work or working in conditions of exploitation. In 2017, the employment rate among girls in Mexico reached 8.4 percent.
