Compensated dispensed Parkinson medicines per user Netherlands 2022

In 2022, nearly 600 euros of dispensed Parkinson's disease medicines were compensated and charged per user by Dutch pharmacies to health insurance companies. In 2014, this number was significantly lower with roughly 464 euros of compensation.

The compensation are the costs charged by pharmacies to the health insurance, excluding taxes. The compensation is on the basis of mutual agreements between the insurance companies and pharmacies and therefore can differ per pharmacy. Furthermore, the compensation is excluding the delivery tariff of the pharmacy.

Concerning pharmaceutical goods that are prescribed as well as (outside of institutions like hospitals and nursing homes) provided and compensated on the basis of the health insurance law (ZVW).
