In 2018, 134.8 million books were printed in Mexico, out of which 86.7 million were destined for the free market and 48.1 million were destined for the government, specifically for a body called CONALITEG (Comisión Nacional de Libros de Texto Gratuitos) which supplies student in public schools with text books free of charge.
