The highest office rents are paid in the Leopold district in Brussels with an average rent of approximately 30 dollars per square feet per year as of September 2017. In January 2018, Belgium's business confidence indicator reached a level of 1.8. The low business confidence in the services industry is seen as the main reason for the decrease in May 2017. In the period between December 2016 and December 2017, the confidence in the construction sector in Belgium also has been negative and increased from an index of -9.1 in 2016 to an index of -4.3 in 2017.
