Italy: opinion on factors showing that democracy leads to social progress 2017 This statistic shows the main factors responsible for the correlation between democracy and social progress according to the Italian adult population in 2017. The survey results show that about a third of respondents thought that an improvement in people's material welfare was the most indicative factor of the link between social progress and democracy, followed by an increase in personal rights (20 percent of respondents).
