This statistic illustrates the number of received but unpaid invoices in the public administration in Italy as of December 31, 2016, broken down by size of the administrative centers. According to the study results, the Italian regions, provinces and local administrations had received over 10 billion invoices that needed to be paid as of the end of 2016. The majority of these (over 9.8 million) had to be paid by the local administrations.
