Delay rate of WOW air flights monthly 2018-2019 In January 2019, almost 22 percent of all flights of WOW air were delayed. This means that the percentage was halved compared to the same period in the previous year. During 2018, the delay rate peaked in February at 47.83 percent and had its lowest point in September at roughly 21 percent.
Delay vs punctuality rate

Delayed flights in this case means that the flights arrived at least 15 minutes later than the scheduled time. By contrast, the punctuality rate is defined as the share of flights that have arrived latest 15 minutes after the scheduled time. WOW air, whose planes approached destinations in Europe and North America, via its Icelandic hub Keflavik nearby Reykjavik, reached a punctuality rate of roughly 78 percent in January 2019.

WOW air ceased its operation

In March 2019, the Icelandic low-cost carrier based in Reykjavik cancelled all their flights due to the cessation of its operation. Already at the end of 2018, WOW air announced that they would decline their aircraft fleet, as well as their workforce. In addition, the company conducted discussions with both investors and the competitor Icelandair, which nevertheless finally failed.
