Opinions on importance of organic food in schools and nurseries in Finland 2015-2021

According to the 2021 consumer survey, nearly one fifth of Finns considered organic food options for children in schools or day care centers very important. The share of respondents who said that organic food options are very or somewhat important in schools or nurseries decreased from 62 percent in 2019 to 60 percent in 2021. The corresponding figure for people who found organic alternatives not important at all was 10 percent in 2021.

In Finland, children are typically offered at least one meal during the day in day care centers and all levels of the compulsory education. Meat and vegetarian alternatives are offered, as well as special meal options for children with allergies.
