A survey held in the United States in May 2020 showed that 70 percent of respondents aged 18 to 34 years old stated that they currently subscribed to a streaming service, compared to just 49 percent of those aged 65 or above who said the same. Older generations were more likely to say that they had never subscribed to a streaming service at all, whereas by contrast the vast majority of adults aged 18 to 44 were currently paying to access their favorite content online via an SVoD platform.
