Electricity production in Cyprus 2000-2021
Cyprus generated over five terawatt hours of electricity in 2021, up by nearly four percent compared to the previous year. Fuel oil is the main source of energy for the Mediterranean island nation, which is almost exclusively reliant on energy imports. In recent years, wind and solar parks have begun contributing to Cyprus' energy mix, however, fossil fuels still accounts for the largest electricity production volume.
