The base is the German-speaking population 14 years of age and older in living in private households at the main place of residence in the Federal Republic of Germany.
Information on the total sample:
2016: 23,854 respondents, projected to 69.56 million persons
2017: 23,356 respondents, projected to 70.09 million persons
2018: 23,389 respondents, projected to 70.45 million persons
2019: 23,318 respondents, projected to 70.60 million persons

2020: 23,191 respondents, projected to 70.64 million persons

The survey question was asked in the following wording: "There are different groups of people on this list. In which case would you say: "This could apply to me"? Which group would you include yourself in? You can just tell me the respective numbers. Group of people: people who have problems with (high) body weight."
