The operational capacity of solar power (10 kW and over) in Japan amounted to approximately 38.4 gigawatt in fiscal year 2018, leaving 31.8 gigawatt of capacity still under development. Geothermal power, by comparison, had the smallest generating capacity with about 50 megawatt during the measured time period.
