This statistic shows the result of a survey on social media users who received hateful expressions in Norway in 2016, by immigration background. It displays, that the majority of social media users, with a share of almost 11 percent, receiving hateful expressions had an immigration background. Only seven percent of social media users without an immigration background received insults and other hateful expressions.

The source adds the following information: "The term 'protected grounds' includes religion, ethnicity, color, nationality, sexual orientation and disability. 'Extended definition' includes personality, gender and appearance. 'Other' includes the content of the argument, political position, profession, education, other and don't know. Weighted by gender, age and education."
