This statistic shows the share of voters in the United States who believe the U.S. Government should allow so-called Dreamers to become U.S. citizens, by party affiliation, as of September 2017. Dreamers refers to those people protected from deportation by the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals. They must must have been younger than 31 in June 2012 and have arrived in the U.S. before the age of 16 then living continuously in the country since 2007. As of September 2017, 56 percent of voters who identify as independents believe Dreamers should be allowed to become citizens.
