In 2022, the United States spent approximately 44 billion U.S. dollars on nuclear weapons, the highest of any country in the world. China spent the second-highest amount, at nearly 12 billion dollars, while Russia spent the third most at nearly 10 billion dollars. Russia is also the country with the highest number of nuclear warheads in the world.
