Party vote results of the General Election New Zealand 2017 This statistic depicts the provisional results of the General Election in New Zealand on September 23, 2017. As of September 25, 2017, the National Party (NAT) became the strongest party with 998,813 party votes out of approximately 2.17 million total voters. Compared to the last election in 2014, NAT lost approximately one percent of votes. The second strongest party is the Labour Party, which is let by Jacinda Ardem, with 776,556 votes, gaining about 10.7 percent of votes compared to the previous election.
