Microgrid capacity additions in the U.S. 2010-2025
An estimated 360 megawatts of energy generating capacity is expected to be added to United States microgrids in 2020. The first half of 2020 saw approximately 60 megawatts connected. The expansion of microgrids is expected to continue in the coming years, as many utilities, public facilities, and businesses wish to reduce the risk of power outages as a result of extreme weather events.
