Biggest banks in the Netherlands 2022, by total assets

ING Group was the largest Dutch bank in 2022, followed by Rabobank and ABN Amro. The total assets of ING reached above 967 billion euros that year, which was higher than the previous years as their total assets grew continuously since 2015. Rabobank and ABN AMRO, the other two members of the traditional "big three" in the country, followed with assets worth of around 628.5 and 379.6 billion euros, respectively.

Which bank has the most branches?

While ING Group, Rabobank, and ABN Amro were by far the largest banks in the Netherlands in 2022, only Rabobank ranked among the top three banks with the most bank branches. As of January 2023, RegioBank (a brand of De Volksbank) had the highest number of bank offices, with 415 branches across the country. Rabobank ranked third, with 126 branches.
