This statistic displays the results of a survey conducted in April 2016 about the share of insurable activities undertaken on the last overseas trip by travelers from Australia, that were not covered by their insurance policy. During the survey period, approximately 63 percent of respondents who rode a motorcycle, moped or quad bike during their last overseas trip were not covered for this activity under their insurance policy.

The survey questions were phrased as follows: 'Which of the following activities, if any, did you undertake the last time you were overseas?
For each of the activities that you said you did the last time you were overseas, were they covered by your travel insurance policy?'.

Respondents were considered to not be covered for the particular activity if they answered: “I think I was covered”, “I was not covered” or “Don’t know”.
