When asked whether they were passive smokers at work, 10.3 percent of male respondents answered affirmatively in 2018, up from 9.6 percent of the men surveyed a year earlier. This figure was higher than the share of female respondants who answered equally to the same question, which reached around four percent in 2018.

Respondents were asked whether any of the people at their workplace usually smoke indoors.
The phrasing of the question chosen for this statistic may differ slightly from the original.
The survey was carried out in the capital city of each of the 26 Brazilian states, plus the Federal District of Brasília.
