Kidney transplants in Spain 2012-2022
In 2022, the number of kidney transplants performed in Spain amounted to approximately 3.4 thousand procedures, up from about 2.9 thousand transplants registered a year prior. The lowest figure for kidney transplants reached around 2.5 thousand interventions at the beginning of the period. Moreover, most of the kidney transplants carried out in Spain in 2022 took place in the regions of Catalonia and Andalusia. The European country has been one of the world leaders in organ donation for the last few years.
