Supplementary notes

In all, negaWatt envisages in its scenario the possibility of a division by two of the final energy consumption in France from 2015 to 2050, which is explained by a decrease in the energy demand divided between the energy sobriety of one side and energy efficiency on the other side.
Final energy consumption is defined as the amount of energy available to the end user. It therefore excludes distribution losses (eg losses in lines or losses due to the thermodynamic efficiency of power plants). Final consumption is used to track the penetration of various forms of energy in energy-using sectors.
